Media Addendum #3
February 4th on RHONY, Safdies, Kesha and more
This week I opened up to the listeners about the way my broken boiler had unlocked my deep insecurities around bare feet in public showers. Along the way, I learned that maybe having a specific and common enemy was the best way to combat seasonal depression, and cited 1984 by George Orwell. In addition to being an important book on the rise of fascism, I’ve been loving reading books that I sparknoted in high school. Turns out some of em are pretty good. Others have been “Wuthering Heights” and “Frankenstein.” Of course you can listen to our book club discussion of “Wuthering Heights” on our Patreon, where we also have a conversation going in the discussion section.
I mistakenly attributed this tweet to Dan Licata, who’s worth checking out. But this tweet by comedian Dan Wickes made me laugh.
On the hellish discussion of the Epstein files and CBS, I think it’s worth mentioning that Bari Weiss’s wife is personal friends with Epstein, and Bari recently hired big time Epstein collaborator Peter Attia. Makes sense they would have met through their mutual. Important to remember this isn’t a bug it’s the system.
After seeing “And Her Children” a one woman show out of The Fringe Fest about the spokesperson for the NRA, I asked what the point of art is in a post truth world. Ss we’re siloed more with people of our own political beliefs, how often do people see art that truly confronts them? And then how often to they change in response. Whatever the complicated answer there, I think this Toni Morrison quote is good for Sydney Sweeney the apolitical actress to hear.
Not to toot our own horns, but this week we discussed EmRata’s ex and Danielle Bernstein’s recent break up. As always we recommend our own episodes as refreshers.
You can also see Danielle’s engagement abs here.
I reference Alexis de Tocqueville’s Democracy in America, which can be read for free at that link. I may even brush up to make sure I’m not misquoting.
I love Brian Moylan’s recaps! You can read them on vulture, but I also often cite his theory that the longer a housewife is a show all, all fights on housewives is about the show.
FINALLY!! If you weren’t lucky enough to enjoy the Paradisco Girls in real time, here they are:

Loving the addenda (?) (addendums?)!! Could Ashley or a fellow worm share the article about Jewish identity that de-centers Israel? Very interested to read that! Thanks!
Love these addendums!! If it’s not too much extra work it would be really cool if you could gather photo references you make in the podcasts too! Like for example Tom Brady’s instagram posts or last week’s episode mentioned Brooklyn Beckham’s elephant photography. I understand if that takes a lot of extra time tho. Love what you guys do! :)
